Indonesian Students’ Strategies to Cope with Foreign Language Anxiety
Some previous studies about Foreign Language Learning, in this case is English, showed that FLA (Foreign Language Anxiety) really play a big role. Moreover for students in non English speaking countries, the more exposure they get in learning English, they will get more anxious to produce something in English. This studies aims at (1) identifying specific moments when students feel the most anxious, (2) investigating their coping strategies, and (3) recognizing the changes in the strategies used by the students during specific moments in their language learning. The researcher used qualitative studies to find out the result. Five university students from non English departments who carried on an English presentation were taken as the sampling in this study to represent non-English speaking people. The findings showed that they performed different anxiety in which they are having few fail during their presentation. The students who has high level of anxiety tends to have monotonous strategies to deal with their anxiety.
